About SugarTree Books

Our beginnings go back to Minnesota and the sweet smell of maple syrup... Ninety miles from the Canadian border in the Lake Vermillion region are hills covered with maple trees. It began with eighty acres of near-wilderness and plenty of room to roam. SugarTree was started by the Sherwood family way back when we started making maple syrup, hence the name—SugarTree...

Then, in February of 2004 we moved the entire inventory of 16,000 books, computers, shipping supplies... everything, 2500 miles away to Pennsylvania.

Insane? Perhaps. But as in almost all things in life, the truth is stranger than fiction. Ask us sometime...
